When the 2015 Cardinals baseball season is brought up,what's the first thing that will come to mind? Disappointment, sadness, now what am I going to do in October, and if you blog from your parents basement, anger, Well those are all the wrong ways of thinking. You should be hopeful, even excited about what the future could look like for the Cardinals. This team won 100 games, the most in the MLB, in the best divsion in baseball. Now that says the Cardinals should have beat the Cubs and runaway with championship. Wrong again. Injuries made this team strach and crawl out every game and turn a cliche (next man up), into an actuality. For the majority of the season the Cardinals were with out thier #1 starting pitcher, starting left fielder and #3 hitter, starting firts basemen and projected #4 hitter, what would become thier starting center fielder (Grichuk), and a majority of the bullpen. Saying all that the St.Louis Cardinals won 100 games. Matt Carpenter said it best when he said take that away from any team and see how they finish. You saw the likes of Tommy Pham, Stephen Piscotty, Randal Grichuk, and to a lesser extent Xavier Scruggs all young and all at times had to be stars in this line-up. Your pitching got contributions from Trevor Lyons, Tim Conney, Mitch Harris, Sam Tuivailala, Miguel Socolovich, and the finding of Jaime Garcia. Minus maybe Garcia, them two sets of players could be the future of your St.Louis Cardinals with guys like Marco Gonzales and Alex Reyes coming. So did Matheny over work the bullpen? Yes. Did he rely on players that are qoute on qoute his boys? Yes. With all that has been said in this whole blog was his hand forced? Yes. If you ask yourself those questions and say no to any of them, insanity has set in. Go to a doctor, get the right meds and read this again. With the likes of Wainwright, Holliday, Molina, Peralta, all growing older and the possibility of Lackey leaving, the future had to come and it hit with full blast. So intsead of boo hooing about what happen in 2015, get some Blues Hockey in, and watch to see if the for now St.Louis Rams can get over the hump, look at what could be of the 2016 Cardinals with all these young stars and beyond.
